Privacy policy

General Introduction

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously and want you to be safe when visiting our website. Our data protection practice follows in particular the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG-new) and the Telemedia Act (TMG). At this point we would like to inform you about the type, scope and purpose of the processing of your personal data. We would like to point out in advance that this data protection declaration only refers to our websites and does not apply to third-party websites to which we refer in the form of links.

Object of protection

The subject of protection is personal data. This is all information that relates to an identified or identifiable natural person (hereinafter “data subject”). This primarily includes information that allows conclusions to be drawn about your identity (e.g. information such as name, postal address, email address and telephone number).

Technical requirements

So that you can establish a connection to our website, your browser transmits certain data to our website's web server. This is a technical necessity so that the information you have accessed can be provided by the website. To make this possible, your IP address, date and time of your request and the type of operating system, among other things, are stored and used for a maximum of 7 days. We reserve the right to store this data for a limited period of time to protect our legitimate interests, in order to initiate the derivation of personal data in the event of unauthorized access or an attempt to intentionally harm us in this way (Art. 6 Para. 1 f GDPR ). The data will only be stored or forwarded by us for these and no other purposes without us informing you beforehand and asking for your permission.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device via your browser, for example to recognize whether you visit websites repeatedly from the same device or browser. In general, we use cookies to analyze interest in our website and to improve the user-friendliness of our website. In principle, you can also access our website without cookies.

Cookies can usually be disabled or removed using tools available in most commercial browsers. The settings must be set separately and individually for each browser you use. The different browsers offer different functions and options.

In order to be able to use our website fully and comfortably, you should accept those cookies that enable the use of certain functions or make use more comfortable. You can see for what purpose the cookies we use and for how long they are stored in the following overview:

Types of cookies

In order to explain the most common types of cookies in more detail, we have explained them below for your understanding:

  • Session-Cookies
Session cookies can be used to recognize users and the changes they make within a website. They allow the website to track your movements across individual pages, so that information that has already been entered/saved does not need to be entered/saved again. An example of this are shopping carts in web shops. The session cookie saves the selected products in the shopping cart so that it contains the correct items when paying at the checkout. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or lose their validity as soon as the session has automatically expired.
  • Persistent or protocol cookies
A persistent or protocol cookie stores users' information and settings on the user's computer for the period specified in the expiration date. This leads to faster and more convenient access, as you do not have to re-adjust language settings or re-enter login data, for example. The cookie is automatically deleted after the end of the storage period.
  • Third-party cookies
Third-party cookies generally have no influence on the use of the site because they do not come from the website operator. For example, they serve the purpose of collecting information for advertising, custom content and web statistics and passing these on to the respective third party provider.
  • Tracking Cookies
Tracking cookies are special text files that make it possible to collect data about the behavior of the Internet user. The aim of this is to obtain information about the user's main interests, for example in order to be able to launch tailor-made advertising offers. Tracking cookies are therefore not only set when you register, but also automatically when you visit the website.

The above-mentioned exemplary representation of the most common forms of cookies is intended to give you a global overview of this form of data collection. These statements do not claim to be complete. As a result of technical IT developments, it can be assumed that additional types of cookies will develop over time. Please check our privacy policy at regular intervals for current changes before using our website.

YouTube

We use YouTube to integrate videos to make our website attractive and informative for you.

If you visit one of our pages equipped with a YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube's servers would usually be established. However, we use Heise's embetty tool on our site to prevent this. All of our videos are embedded into our pages through “embetty” in such a way that the transmission of your IP address to the YouTube server only begins when you actively click on the video. If you do not do this, no data will be sent to YouTube during your visit to our website.

The legal basis for data processing (if it takes place) is your consent in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 a GDPR, which you give through your active interaction with the video.

YouTube is operated by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

YouTube uses cookies to collect information about visitors to its website. YouTube uses these, among other things, to collect video statistics, to prevent and investigate fraud and to improve user-friendliness. A connection to the Google DoubleClick network may also occur. Starting a YouTube video could trigger further data processing operations. We have no influence on that.

If you have a YouTube account and are logged in there at the same time as accessing our websites, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal YouTube profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

Further information about data protection at YouTube can be found in their data protection declaration at: https://www.youtube.de/t/privacy or under: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de&gl=de

Users of our contact form:

There is a contact form on our website that can be used to contact us electronically. To ensure secure transmission of your data, we use a state-of-the-art encrypted connection with an SSL certificate during transmission. By clicking the “Send” button, you consent to the data entered in the input mask being transmitted to us. You must confirm to us that you have read and accepted the contents of this section and our data protection declaration by using our contact form before sending your personal data. We store your name and email address and, if necessary, other information you provide in order to be able to contact you and answer your query in the best possible way. On the one hand, this allows us to offer you the service that you expect from us, and on the other hand, it gives us the opportunity to continuously improve (Art. 6 Para. 1 f GDPR).

Tracking-Tools

Our website uses functions from various web analysis services from other companies such as Google Inc. We will explain in more detail below which services these are and which data are analyzed.

Use of Google Analytics with anonymization function

We use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter “Google”, on our website. Google Analytics uses cookies to help analyze how you use the website. The information generated by the cookies about the use of our online offering (e.g. when, where and how often you access our website, including IP address) is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. To ensure that your IP address is no longer identified as a person, it will be shortened immediately after it has been recorded (e.g. by deleting the last 8 bits) and thereby anonymized. IP anonymization also applies to all member states

the European Union or in other contracting states of the European Economic Area. Further information on IP anonymization and data use by Google can be found at: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2763052?hl=de

If you would like to decide for yourself what data Google collects about the websites you visit, you can download a deactivation add-on for your internet browser. However, this add-on does not prevent data from being transmitted to us or other web analysis services we use. Further information on using and installing the add-on can be found at: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

If you use a mobile device (e.g. smartphone) to access our website or if you would like to object to the use of Google Analytics on this website in general, please click on this link to prevent the analysis data from being transmitted to Google Analytics. The link above is also possible as an alternative to the browser add-on already described, because it activates an “opt-out cookie” which is only valid for this browser and this domain. If you delete cookies in this browser, this cookie will also be lost and you will have to click on the link again.

Use of Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager from Google. Google Tag Manager can manage a variety of marketers' website tags in one interface. The tool (Tag Manager, which implements the tags) is a cookieless domain and does not collect any personal data. Only tags are triggered, which in turn may collect data. However, Google Tag Manager does not access this data. If a deactivation has been made at the domain or cookie level, this will remain in effect for all tracking tags implemented with Google Tag Manager.

Use of DoubleClick by Google

Doubleclick by Google is a service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). Doubleclick by Google uses cookies to show you advertisements that are relevant to you. A pseudonymous identification number (ID) is assigned to your browser in order to check which advertisements were displayed in your browser and which advertisements were viewed. The cookies do not contain any personal information. The use of DoubleClick cookies only enables Google and its partner websites to display ads based on previous visits to our website or other websites on the Internet. The information generated by the cookies is transmitted by Google to a server in the USA for evaluation and stored there. Google adheres to the data protection provisions of the “US Safe Harbor” agreement and is registered with the “Safe Harbor” program of the US Department of Commerce. Under no circumstances will Google combine your data with other data collected by Google. By giving your consent on our cookie banner, you agree to the collection of data by Google and the manner of data processing described above and the stated purpose. You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookies and relating to your use of the website and from processing this data by Google by clicking on the following link: Opt-out cookie.
Further information about DoubleClick by Google and data protection can be found at: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads?hl=de

MyFonts Counter

On this website we use MyFonts Counter, a web analysis service from MyFonts Inc., 500 Unicorn Park Drive, Woburn, MA 01801, USA. Due to the license terms, page view tracking is carried out by counting the number of visits to the website for statistical purposes and transmitting it to MyFonts. MyFonts only collects anonymized data. The data may be passed on by activating Java script code in your browser. To prevent MyFonts from executing Java Script code altogether, you can install a Java Script blocker (e.g. www.noscript.net). Further information about MyFonts Counter can be found in the MyFonts data protection information at http://www.myfonts.com/info/terms-and-conditions/#Privacy
